Animation Program – The Animation Wizard

The Animation Wizard is the quick start feature in the animation program that users head for first.

The easiest way to build with the animation program is to use GIF Construction Set Professional’s "Animation Wizard." Animation Wizard will ask you a few things about how you want your animated graphic to work and where the source images are. The animation program will then assemble your frames into an animated GIF file.

Animation Wizard automates several features to help you start creating animated graphics with the animation program ASAP. The Animation Wizard dialog works like a conventional Windows wizard. You can move back and forth through its screens by clicking on the Back and Next buttons. Each screen is set to a default value by the animation program, which will usually be correct, and you can safely leave them as they are.

As you develop a better understanding of the GIF file format and a better understanding of how GIF animations work, you can use other features of the animation program to fine tune your animated graphics.

 

Animation Program – File Types

GIF Construction Set Professional will import images to create your animated graphics. The animation program will allow you to use most of the popular image file formats. These include GIF, PNG, PCX, BMP and JPG.

The GIF format can support images having no more than 256 colors. As such, using GIF source images to build your animations is likely to confront you with fewer color problems.

By comparison, all images stored in JPG files have 16,777,216 possible colors. Using JPG files as source images can require that you be more aware of how the animation program will deal with too many colors. A great deal of explanation and discussion on dealing with color and understanding file types is detailed in the extensive documentation and reference files in the animation program.

PNG, BMP and PCX files can contain images having anywhere from two to 16,777,216 colors.
